There is a great variety of herbs growing in the Valaisan part of the Swiss Alps. These Swiss alpine plants, found at higher than normal elevations, have been subjected to strong temperature fluctuations and high UV radiation over the millennia. To combat these environmental insults and to survive and prosper in nature, these species needed to develop efficient protective factors.
ALPAFLOR specializes in organic cultivation, extraction and isolation of these Swiss alpine plants to produce exclusive, high-quality functional extracts. They have used the "protective factor" premise as a starting point to develop skin and hair care ingredients isolated from such plants whose activities are based in part protecting the skin from the negative impact of the environment.
